R407c was introduced as a replacement for older refrigerants, such as R22, which were found to contribute to ozone depletion. It has a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) than some other refrigerants, which makes it an environmentally friendly alternative. It is a colorless, odorless gas that is non-toxic and non-flammable. R407c is commonly used in air conditioning systems for residential and commercial applications, such as hotels and office buildings, due to its efficient performance and safety.
